Golfers are always looking for ways in which to shave strokes off their score and improve their game. Yoga, one of the more unheralded exercises for golf, promotes many of the same benefits that golfers are looking for, including increased flexibility, improved strength, and better balance.

Tight muscles can restrict your range of motion during the golf swing, but most yoga poses can help loosen up those muscles and promote increased power. Similarly, yoga is great for boosting core strength, which in turn can add distance to your drives. Balance is also crucial in golf, and yoga practice can improve this as well.

Some of the specific yoga poses that can help improve your game include the wrist stretch, cow face arms, downward dog twist, and lunge twist with quad stretch. If you’re unsure how to begin, there are many golf-focused yoga videos on YouTube.
